Poland put 286 children through a free junior golf league
Two age-group formats drew record numbers, helped by free entry and a requirement placed on trainee coaches.
The Polish Golf Union has reported its strongest season yet for junior team golf, with 286 children playing across two formats of the GolfSixes programme in 2025.
The older league ran seven tournaments nationwide and drew 149 players in 12 teams. The busiest stop was Kraków Valley, where 30 juniors turned out in cold and rain. Organisers also changed how entry works, letting parents sign children up individually rather than through a club, which widened who could take part.
A younger Mini League ran for the first time and beat its own target comfortably: eight tournaments, 161 children, against an initial aim of 100. Every event was free to enter and every child left with a medal.
The mechanism behind that growth is worth noting. Weekly sessions ran in schools and fed into a summer tournament, and the national body made hosting a Mini League event a requirement for assistant coaches, which pushed uptake across the country rather than leaving it to whichever clubs happened to be enthusiastic.
For scale, there are 750 registered juniors at Polish golf clubs.
